Module 7

Poll watching is an allowed practice whose purpose is to make sure that everything is working as it is supposed to during the election, and that everyone who is voting is in their right. I honestly do feel like it is important to have some type of monitor during the election to make sure the process is going smoothly. The person should only really be in charge of organizing the lines, and setting up, and checking people in when they get to their designated voting station, but I don't agree with the animosity that these "Poll Watchers" have had while in that position. The problem with this practice is the voter intimidation that can happen because of this allowed practice. The fear also comes from the great divide between the american people right now, the hostility that certain voters have had against their ‘rival’ voters. This tension is what makes it a very scary thing for people who are planning to vote.  The rules about poll watching have shafted throughout the years,...

Module 6

i n your blog post this week, discuss three topic areas debated by the vice-presidential candidates… choose the three topics of greatest interest or importance to you. Did you find the candidates’ statements about the topic satisfying? Why or why not? Did you find their statements in general credible? How do you think an undecided voter might assess the debate? 1. As a result her and the Biden administration have said that that they will get ride of those tax cuts, and increase taxes on those who make more that 40 thousand a year. It seemed ridiculous when they talked about this because the argument was between raising taxes to help the nations economy or leave them as such which allows for ...

Module 5

The debate was incredibly entertaining and quite humorous. I believe that humor with awareness is a healthy response to what is happening. The moderator had very little influence over the course of the debate and it ended up being an argument between the two parties as represented by President Trump and former Vice President Biden. I think the debate was a testament to the smoke and mirrors tactics of both sides and the clear divisiveness of the current political system. It felt like a large combination of fear mongering, finger pointing, and rampant denial on both sides with very little substance. Neither seemed to open to reveal their flaws or errors in thought or being. Biden represents the left and makes the claim that he is for racial equality and spoke about being a proponent of that and pointed the finger at trump yet his crime bill was incredibly damaging to people of color and reportedly his statement calling black people who committed crimes "super predators" in th...
