Module 15

Article number one talked about the early stage of the election process. They explains how in order to cast a vote the states need to cast their own vote in the form of the electoral vote. The electoral votes are what directly decide who the president will be. these electoral votes are determent by the the number of members we have in congress, which depends on the amount of people each state has. Article one, just talked about the history and the logistics of the being of what is the electoral process. In article two, they then begin to take about how every member of the House is up for election along with the third of the senate. Which is something people don't really think about. I think that when voting all people are focused with in the President and his second, forgetting that the people in the house and in the senate are the ones that ultimately run this nation. For example, in the last article they quote the constitutional amendments which says, " The 12th Amendment st...

Module 14

In regards to election fraud, I can honestly say I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. I do not think we have a secure system for voting that can guarantee a zero percent change of fraud. I do not think mail in votes are secure because I lose packages and mail all the time, so do I thin mailing in a vote would be different? No, because the mail serious has proved to me that they have a flawed system that has resulted in the misplacement of important documents. Do I think going to a booth is much safer, no and that's because the system that is used to count and secure the votes is too long and seems extremely complicated which only leaves room for error. With that being said, I also want to highlight the fact that during Trumps election into the White House a lot of people said that he won as a result of cheating. So if that is true, then it makes sense why he would be so upset that he lost and it makes sense why he is fighting for the 'fraud' that was committed to be ...

Module 12      When dealing with any kind of vote system I think that there will aways be a margin for error, especially when we are counting billions of votes and not using one method in doing so. We currently have two ways people usually vote, mail in ballots and going to an election polling place. Both whom which have a lot of room and possibly for fraud. When president Trump won the election he was said to have cheated by using Russias hacking systems to change the votes  electronically. This whether it was true to false brings to light a form of cheating that is very possible because of the use of technology. So that in itself already proves a deficiency in the United States electoral process, which one would be justified in questioning. But in the event that Trump did successfully cheat his way into the presidency then it would again make sense that he would be so fearful ...

Module 10

Module 10  I do not believe it is surprising at all that the United States turned into a nation where its own citizens feel fear when thinking about going to a voting booth. I think given the United States history and the way it was built I think it makes sense that there is still a great divide amongst its people, which is probably the reason the White House has served as a reflection of its nation. While it has been said that the president of our nation is a racist and an unfair person, that doesn't mean it reflects everyone in the states but it does reflect the majority of the problems that we face in the states. The systemic racism that has disproportionally effected our nation is what the president has represented, not only that but he also represents everything that is wrong with capitalism which is what his presidency has highlighted.   Watching the film was a very hard thing  todo because I...

Module 9

Module 9       For this weeks Module I will be talking about the Green Party. I recently had to change my address in which I had to change my voting information, during this I was asked the famous question about what party I identify with. This made me realize that I do not know much about the other parties besides the fact that there was always this negative or dismissive attitude when speaking about the Green Party. According to my research  the Green party is a political party that is focused on green politics, such as social justice, environmentalism and nonviolence. The Green Party believes that these issues are inherently related to one another as a foundation for world peace. The fact that t he party promotes green politics, specifically environmentalism; nonviolence; social justice and a lot of other things makes it really hard for me to understand why they are not as popular. The green party seems t...

Module 7

Poll watching is an allowed practice whose purpose is to make sure that everything is working as it is supposed to during the election, and that everyone who is voting is in their right. I honestly do feel like it is important to have some type of monitor during the election to make sure the process is going smoothly. The person should only really be in charge of organizing the lines, and setting up, and checking people in when they get to their designated voting station, but I don't agree with the animosity that these "Poll Watchers" have had while in that position. The problem with this practice is the voter intimidation that can happen because of this allowed practice. The fear also comes from the great divide between the american people right now, the hostility that certain voters have had against their ‘rival’ voters. This tension is what makes it a very scary thing for people who are planning to vote.  The rules about poll watching have shafted throughout the years,...

Module 6

i n your blog post this week, discuss three topic areas debated by the vice-presidential candidates… choose the three topics of greatest interest or importance to you. Did you find the candidates’ statements about the topic satisfying? Why or why not? Did you find their statements in general credible? How do you think an undecided voter might assess the debate? 1. One topic that interested me during this debate was in regards to taxes. During the Trump administration there were tax cuts that made it so that people who made a lot of money did not have to pay as much in taxes, according to Kamala Harris this only benefited the wealthy. As a result her and the Biden administration have said that that they will get ride of those tax cuts, and increase taxes on those who make more that 40 thousand a year. It seemed ridiculous when they talked about this because the argument was between raising taxes to help the nations economy or leave them as such which allows for ...
