Module 10
Module 10
I do not believe it is surprising at all that the United States turned into a nation where its own citizens feel fear when thinking about going to a voting booth. I think given the United States history and the way it was built I think it makes sense that there is still a great divide amongst its people, which is probably the reason the White House has served as a reflection of its nation. While it has been said that the president of our nation is a racist and an unfair person, that doesn't mean it reflects everyone in the states but it does reflect the majority of the problems that we face in the states. The systemic racism that has disproportionally effected our nation is what the president has represented, not only that but he also represents everything that is wrong with capitalism which is what his presidency has highlighted.
Watching the film was a very hard thing todo because I can not believe or understand how people could ever do that to each other and not really think twice. The fact that we have movies that display ridiculous examples of blackface and are so obvious about a time in which people were hurtful just feels like it is putting salt on a wound. I get white people feel the need to try and fix everything by highlighting the things they have done wrong but at the same time it does no one any good to relieve traumatic and painful moments if there is not real hope of plan to fix it.
